The Wright Brother's Diary

Christmas.

Christmas was really fun! That Santa guy came, again. I like him! He is the best! I admit, at first, I wasn’t to sure about him. I mean, a perfect stranger creeps into your house in the middle of the night? But, he left some wonderful toys. And, it doesn’t appear that he took anything, other than a few cookies. (Which, we left out for him… so it was kosher.) After everything that he did for me, and the rest of the children in the world, I wish I had been nicer to him when I saw him at the mall. Next year, I will be. I hope he made it home in time to spend Christmas with his family.

One other cool thing, I can now talk to my Grandpa & Grandma Beauchemin, via internet. I can see them and they can see me! It was really nice to be able to see them Christmas morning. It was such a treat! It makes you feel like you are not so far away. Now, if only Grandma and Grandpa Fossey would leap into the 21st century, I could see them, too!

Christmas Eve, we had dinner at our house. Mom was super excited to get to use her fancy dishes. I think Dad was pretending to be excited about it, cuz it really doesn’t seem like his thing… But, it made Mom happy.

After we opened our presents together at home, on CHristmas morning, we drove up to Granny and Papa’s. My cousins were there, too. It was fun. Cousin Claire got me a really cool pair of shoes! Mom likes them because they are easy to put on my feet. (She doesn’t use bad words, when she puts this pair on me, so thanks cousin Claire. I would hate to see mom warp my fragile mind.) I also, got a really cool slide! (Demonstration to follow.)

Then, for the next couple of days, we just hung out and ate and slept. Although, I did help Granny and Papa with their jigsaw puzzle.

After the Christmas fiasco was over, we came home. Dad was on vacation, so Mom and I really enjoyed getting to see him all day, everyday! It was the best. We hung out and played. Dad is back at work now, and we really miss him during the day. But, someone has to go to work- and Mom and I don’t want to do it! I guess Dad drew the short straw. Thanks Dad, you are a good man to take one for the team.

Here are some of my favorite moments with Dad:

Mom is not as much fun as Dad. But, when I am tired- she holds me and reads to me and sings to me. It sure is nice.

Well, I better get to sleep. If I don’t get 12 hours a night, I am a beast the next day. This “growing” stuff is serious business.
