Listening to the boys talk and play. Chase keeps shushing Sawyer, so he doesn’t wake us. Chase made a journal for Sawyer, now he’s helping Sawyer write in it. Sawyer went in to Chase’s room because he couldn’t sleep, and Chase is taking such great care of him. Considering it’s 11 o’clock, I should probably go in and make them go to bed, but it’s always so hard when they get along so well and are helping each other. As much as I love the hugs and snuggles, my favorite part of being a mom is watching them love and care for one another. Hearing Chase help Sawyer, is impressive- the patience, love, and guidance he gives Sawyer makes it hard to believe he’s only 8. Last night when Chris was in London the boys slept in my bed. Sawyer fell asleep before Chase, Chase kissed Sawyer’s forehead and said, “I love you, Sawyer.” It’s often like Sawyer has 3 parents. And Sawyer couldn’t love Chase more, the way he looks up to him, with a huge smile and adoration. He always tells me Chase is his favorite person. They have earned each other’s love and respect. It’s a beautiful thing.
Okay. Time to break this moment up and put them back in bed. I hate to do this!!! Their conversation and giggles are about the best thing I’ve ever heard. But, I’m tired.
