Meet my baby brother, Sawyer!
Born: 7:26 AM – 11 lbs, 22 inches!
It’s been a bit of a whirlwind around here. Sawyer started off in the ICU for a little while because he was having a little trouble getting all the fluid out of his lungs. Mom and Dad were not happy about that whole thing. I was up at Granny and Papa’s house, so I was none the wiser. Good thing too because I worry about my baby brother. I need to look after him after all.
Then they said he had “jawnd-us”. I don’t know what that means, but they brought over like a little reverse tanning bed just for Sawyer! It looked kind of like a tanning bed, but it made him less tan! Weird.
Anyway, he’s off of that and they say he’s going to be just fine. Oh yeah, and he makes some pretty funny faces and sounds too! I really don’t like it when he cries though. It kind of scares me. But I do like to help Mommy out and bring diapers and stuff when she needs them. Also, he was holding his head up on the day he was born! He’s a tank!
Well that’s it for now. I gotta go play with Daddy – he’s home ALL WEEK! WHOO-HOO!
Chase
Congratulations, Chase (and Mom and Dad) ! Sawyer looks like he’s going to be a lot of fun to play with and I’m sure you’ll be a great big brother. Just be careful with him while he’s this little. Don’t do what your Grandpa did to his little brother (Uncle Greg) when he was a baby. Grandpa used to bite Greg’s fingers so hard with his sharp little teeth that mom would worry he’d bite them off all together. Grandpa was about a year younger than you are when that happened, so I’m sure you’re much smarter than he was.
Enjoy your new brother and take good care of him. You’ll end up being the best of friends.
I love you……Elyse
