I came home from the grocery store one night last week. It was after 10, we had put the kids to bed before I left the house to go shopping. I came home and found this on my deck. We enjoyed a nice chat together for awhile, then shut off the fire and all of the lights. We laid a blanket on the lawn and looked for meteors. I hope the boys remember these times when they are older. I hope they remember the impromptu times where we left our routine and did something special together. I am definitely a parent first- but, life is short. I want to know my kids. I know I will never be cool- but, I’m always going to try to be interested in what they are.
