The Wright Brother's Diary

Nocturnal

Chase can never sleep at night, his mind just doesn’t shut off. Chris and I have always been the same way, so we get it. When I went to bed last night, at 11:30, Chase was still awake. I told him I would sleep in his room. We were laying there talking about random little things, then it was silent for several minutes. Out of the blue, Chase asked me, “do we have a medic kit in the house?”. He is such a little worrier. Such a responsible little guy, always making sure things are picked up, put away and doors and cabinets are closed. Helping with Sawyer, in fact last night when Sawyer was going to bed, he wanted Chase. When I was tucking Chase in, I told him that Sawyer had asked for him, he said “I better go check on him”. He went to Sawyer’s room, laid him down in bed, kissed his forehead and gave him his blanket. It was just so sweet! He helps Sawyer all of the time. When Sawyer is throwing a tantrum, Chase is the one who knows how to deal with him the best, he understands him best and even let’s us know what Sawyer is trying to say or why he’s upset. He takes on a lot of responsibility, without always being asked. Of course, as I write this he is riding a bike around the house, crashing into a couch and throwing himself into the couch. He’s a well balanced boy.
